Karen Ferry

Karen Ferry recently earned her Master of Music in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose and Kimberly Meier-Sims. At CIM, she received the Dr. Bennett Levine Memorial Award in Chamber Music and participated in the Intensive Duo and Advanced String Quartet Programs.

An active performer, Karen serves as Principal Second Violinist of the Akron and Canton Symphonies and performs with the New Texas Sinfonia, Lexington Bach Festival, New World Symphony, and Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She has held fellowships with the National Orchestral Institute (concertmaster), Smithsonian String Quartet Seminar (performing on their Stradivarius Collection), Vivace International Music Festival, and ENCORE Chamber Music Festival.

A passionate educator, Karen teaches privately from her home and renowned Suzuki programs in Cleveland, OH, helping students build confidence and a lifelong love of music. She debuted with the Utah Philharmonic at age seven, and now enjoys running, journaling, and speaking Italian.
