Henry Lin
Henry Lin is an active performer whose musical life spans orchestral, operatic, and chamber music. He joined the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra in 2025. He has served as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and as a section cellist with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra (IN) since 2022. In addition, he appears frequently as a guest musician with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.
Henry has held principal roles at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and in festival orchestras, performing as principal cellist under conductors such as Marin Alsop, Constantine Kitsopoulos, Marzio Conti, David Neely, Scott Sandmeier, and Jeffery Meyer. He has been selected for fellowship positions at numerous summer festivals, including the Brevard Music Center (2022), the National Orchestral Institute and Festival (2023, 2024), and Spoleto Festival USA (2025). Beyond his orchestral engagements, he is an avid chamber musician and has performed widely across the United States at the Jacobs School of Music and through festivals such as Brevard and NOI, collaborating closely with faculty artists and fellow musicians.
A native of Taiwan, Henry is pursuing a Master of Music in Cello Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Eric Kim and Brandon Vamos, where he also earned his Bachelor of Music and a minor in Financial Literacy from the Kelley School of Business. His other mentors include Anne Epperson, Mark Kaplan, Kenneth Olsen, Yumi Kendall, Ilya Finkelshteyn, Susan Babini, and Benjamin Hughes.
