Bjorn Ranheim

Cellist Bjorn Ranheim is a member of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the Sun Valley Music Festival in Idaho. He has been featured as a soloist with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and many other orchestras throughout the United States.  Actively performing in chamber music, Ranheim has toured extensively in the United States, Europe, and Central America, with performances at Carnegie Hall, Boston's Gardner Museum, Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. He has been a guest artist with the Costa Rica, Amelia Island and Jackson Hole Chamber Music Festivals and is a core member of the Chamber Music Society of St. Louis. He is a founding member of The 442s, an ensemble of jazz and classical musicians that pursues innovative, genre-defying music making. He and his wife, Dorie, live in the heart of St. Louis with their beautiful daughters, Inga and Freya and their Hungarian Vizsla, Ginger.
