Jason Huang

Jason Huang is a bassoonist and educator based in the Midwest. He has performed as principal bassoon under the esteemed batons of Marin Alsop, JoAnn Falletta, Victor Yampolsky, and Mallory Thompson, and currently performs regularly with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Peoria and Firelands symphonies. As a teacher, Jason maintains a private studio where he teaches acoustic guitar lessons and is looking to take on bassoon as well as piano students. Jason received his master’s degree from DePaul University where he worked with Bill Buchman and Miles Maner, and received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in the studio of David McGill. During his time at DePaul University, Jason has appeared with the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago and the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra. He is a proud alumnus of the National Orchestral Institute + Festival, Berlin Opera Academy, and Eastern Music Festival.
