Stephanie Block

Principal Viola of the Sarasota Orchestra, Stephanie Block has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician. She gave the U.S. premiere of Alejandro Cardona's Sweet Tijuana: Danzas Fronterizas with the New Juilliard Ensemble and has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and completed a trial as No. 2 Viola with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Stephanie earned both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School. She has been featured on PBS News Hour and American Masters and is a Gold Medal winner of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. A survivor of Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, she was a featured speaker in the Miami Cancer Institute's Inspire You series and is a four-time USA Triathlon National Championships qualifier.
