Yonatan Quemado is a dynamic and iridescent violinist who has earned international acclaim for his captivating performances across the United States and Europe.

An avid orchestral musician, Quemado was recently appointed Assistant Principal First Violin of the Lappeenranta City Orchestra, where he has also appeared as a soloist and guest concertmaster. Additionally, he is a member of the Helsinki Chamber Orchestra and has performed throughout Finland with prominent ensembles such as the Turku Philharmonic, Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Pori Sinfonietta, and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.

Renowned as a rising champion of contemporary music, Quemado has been invited as a guest artist at the What Ever Works! Contemporary Music Festival and the Korvat Auki concert series, and as a soloist with the NYKY Ensemble at the Musica Nova Festival. He has collaborated with vanguard ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, ensemble recherche, and the Pekka Toivonen Ensemble (jazz), as well as with celebrated composers including Kalevi Aho and Liza Lim.

Quemado remains deeply committed to chamber music, and his recent engagements include recitals at the Kumaus Festival, Renova Music Festival, Aurora Music Festival, and Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and he has performed alongside distinguished artists such as Kerson Leong, the Meta4 Quartet, Andrés Cárdenes, and Pekka Kuusisto.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Quemado began his early violin studies with Peter Snitkovsky at the City Music Center of Duquesne University, and he won first prize at the 2013 Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra Conducting Competition. Later, he received a Bachelor of Music degree from Vanderbilt University, studying under Stephen Miahky and John Kochanowski, and subsequently completed a Master of Music degree at the Sibelius Academy, where he studied with Kaija Saarikettu and Tero Latvala.
